Tomah VA to hold Memorial Day observance

TOMAH, Wis. – The Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will hold its annual Memorial Day observance on Friday, May 23, at 1 p.m., on the front steps of Building 400 on the Tomah VA campus.

   The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will honor our nation’s fallen. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the Tomah VA Chapel.

   Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tim Pickerill, the Support Maintenance Technician, Regional Training Site-Maintenance at Fort McCoy, will deliver the keynote speech.

   The Tomah High School Band will perform at the program. The Memorial Day observance will also include patriotic music from Navy Veteran John Elliot will play bagpipes.

   The observance will also include the annual Tribute to the Fallen, a reading of the names of Wisconsin’s service members, who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan.
