The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says an unidentified male died Wednesday after suffering a medical condition while driving causing him to go off a county road.

The Sheriff’s Department’s dispatch center received a call around 9 am Wednesday morning of a man that was unresponsive and not breathing. According to the Sheriff’s Office the man was driving and approaching the intersection of Co Hwy Z and Minnow Ave. when he drove off the north side of the road into a field. The vehicle then crossed Minnow Ave. and came to a stop on a field on the northwest side of Co Hwy Z and Minnow Ave.

There was no damage to the mans vehicle and trailer he was towing.  There were no other injuries observed on the man. Emergency Services worked on the adult male (providing medical care).  The man was later pronounced dead.  The death is believed to be health related.  The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of the family.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Wilton Fire Department, The Wilton Ambulance Service, the Norwalk-Wilton Police Department, the Monroe County 911 Center, and the Sparta Area Ambulance Service.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
