Crawford County car vs. semi crash injures two

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department says two people were injured when a 59-year-old Soldiers Grove women fell asleep and crashed into a semi Monday afternoon.

Rita Olson of Soldiers Grove was traveling US Hwy 61 near Trout Creek Road when she fell asleep and crossed the center line colliding with a semi. The tractor trailer was drivern by 61-year-old David Balog of PA. Olson’s vehicle sideswiped the semi and trailer.

Both Olson and Balog were transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries and released. Olson was cited for inattentive driving.
