LA CROSSE, Wis.- In a written statement Dairyland Power Cooperative President and CEO William “Bill” Berg announced he is retiring by the end of the year.
Berg has been Dairyland’s President and CEO for the past 24-years. Hejoined Dairyland in July 1974. He held engineering and management positions in System Planning before being named Assistant General Manager of Engineering & Technical Services in 1986. In February 1990, he succeeded Jim Taylor as General Manager following his retirement.
“He is a tremendous leader who has guided Dairyland very successfully through periods of significant change in our industry,” said Dairyland Board Chairman Dan Korn. “While his shoes will certainly be difficult to fill, Bill has worked diligently to ensure a strong management team is in place at our cooperative.”
Berg’s official retirement date has not been released at this time.
