La Farge woman arrested after drug investigation at nursing home

According Vernon County Sheriff John Spears a 44-year-old La Farge woman was arrsted last week on multiple counts of possession of schedule II controlled substances and theft. The charges stem from an investigation into missing Fentanyl patches and Vicodin tablets from an area nursing home.

Violet K. Thelen of rural La Farge was arrested on Friday following an extensive investigation into reports of missing Vicodin and Fentanyl patches from the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. The charge is a Class I felony. 

Investigators say that during an interview with Vernon County Investigators Thelen admitted to taking Vicodin and Fentanyl patches from Vernon Manor Nursing Home. The theft occurred while Thelen was employed as a Registered Nurse at Vernon Manor.
