The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department says a Fennimore man and a toddler escaped injury when a tree fell on their vehicle on State Hwy 35 Saturday.

According to the Sheriff’s Department Todd Slaght, 45, of Fennimore along with passenger Auden Slaght, 4, were traveling south bound on State Hwy 35 south of Mohawk Valley Road in the town of Bergen when a tree broke in half and landed on top of the vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Auden Slaught was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. Sheriff’s Department says seat belts were worn at the time of the crash.
