MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to deliver the commencement address on May 16 at Concordia University in Mequon, north of Milwaukee.
Walker’s spokesman Tom Evenson said Wednesday that this would be the first commencement speech Walker has delivered as governor. Evenson says Walker has been invited to give others, but none worked out.
The university said that Walker would give the speech to graduate students. The undergraduate ceremony the following day will feature a different speaker.
The university is affiliated with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and is a member of the Concordia University System, a nationwide network of colleges and universities.
Walker attended Marquette University but did not graduate.
