Prairie du Chien, WI – In 2013 Couleecap’s Prairie du Chien food pantry collected approximately 3,400 pounds of food and collected over $1800.00 to match the Feinstein Challenge that Couleecap has participated in for the past two years. Once again, Couleecap is asking area residents, organizations, schools, churches, and companies to help raise funds to feed the people of Crawford County who are hungry. For the 17th consecutive year, The Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among nonprofit agencies throughout the county helping to fight hunger between March and April2014.
The more donations Couleecap receives (food and monetary), the more Feinstein money Couleecap will access. Couleecap needs your help for this great “challenge.” Only cash, checks, food items and donations received from March 1, 2014 at to April 30, 2014 will be counted toward the Feinstein Challenge.
People wishing to participate in the challenge please send a check or bring nonperishable food donations to: Couleecap Food Pantry, 200 E. Blackhawk Avenue, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Organizations or groups interested in doing a food drive please contact Peggy Gallagher at 608-326-2463. Your donation towards this campaign makes you a partner in the most successful campaign to fight hunger of all times. Without your involvement, Couleecap would not be able to provide assistance to those in our community who need emergency food for their families. Thank you for your assistance in this great challenge!
