SULLIVAN, Wis. (AP) – Heavy snow and reduced visibility are canceling classes around Wisconsin where schools are already wondering how to make up a mounting number of snow days this winter.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for much of the state where steady, heavy snow is expected to continue throughout the day. Accumulations of 4 to 7 inches of snow are forecast for parts of Wisconsin.

Chippewa Falls, New Auburn, Lake Holcombe, Whitehall and Viroqua are among the districts closed Monday.

Forecasters expect travel visibility will be reduced to a quarter mile with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
