NELSON, Wis. — According to the Wisconsin State Patrol one person is dead and three others are injured after an accident in Buffalo County.
The patrol says around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday 50-year-old Barbara Whelan of Mondovi was driving south on Highway 25 when she lost control while trying to steer clear of an accident. Whelan’s van hit a northbound car driven by 36-year-old Jamie Steele of Durand.
Steele was taken to a hospital in Wabasha, Minnesota, where he was pronounced dead. Whelan and two passengers in her van were taken to a hospital in Durand with non-life threatening injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the accident.
