MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Wisconsin attorney general hopeful Brad Schimel’s campaign says he raised nearly $177,000 over the last half of 2013.
Schimel’s raised $176,953 and had $172,000 on hand. Schimel, the Waukesha County district attorney, is the only Republican in the race.
Candidates have until Friday to report fundraising and spending over the last six months of the year.
Three candidates are vying for the Democratic nomination. State Rep. Jon Richards’ campaign has said he had $92,000 on hand. Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne reported raising $44,566, including $20,000 he loaned to himself. He had $50,930 on hand. Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ hasn’t reported any campaign finance activity since 2011. She didn’t form her attorney general campaign committee until this month and doesn’t have to report her finances until July.
