Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers not only practiced on Wednesday, but he took a few reps with the number-1 offense for the first time since suffering the injury on Nov. 4.  Coach Mike McCarthy said he saw no evidence that his quarterback experienced any pain during his workout.

But McCarthy said it’s important to remember that Rodgers hasn’t been cleared to play yet.

Tight end Andrew Quarless confirmed that Rodgers did some work with the one’s and said “12″ looked real good.

But McCarthy said they won’t rush Rodgers back before he is ready and there’s a chance that he may not be ready by Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who is getting ready to face the Packers on Sunday, broke his left collarbone in the sixth game of the 2010 season and missed the final two months.  During a news conference with Green Bay reporters, Romo said, “Just because it’s such an easy thing to hurt again and it’s a little different in the sense that if you come back right when you feel like you’re healthy, there’s just so many cases of people come down with another collarbone injury.”

McCarthy said after practice that Rodgers didn’t appear to be bothered by any pain this week, after experiencing pain in workouts last week.

Even if Rodgers receives medical clearance this week, according to McCarthy, that won’t guarantee he will play against the Cowboys on Sunday.

Rodgers is expected to meet with reporters today.  He and Mike McCarthy are expected to update his status at that time.
