Wisconsin residents have been getting fatter. Just under one-third residents are considered to be normal weight, according to the latest government survey, and Wisconsin is 15th highest in obesity.

State Health Secretary Kitty Rhoades said though, the numbers aren’t really alarming “The change in the numbers isn’t statistically enough to make any judgement about it,” she said.

Rhoades said the Department of Health Services is actively involved in state and local programs to encourage people to lose weight through exercise and proper diet. “We really are working to coordinate with schools, employers, with communities, with parents, with physicians,” she said. “We need to come at this with a united front.”

The study finds Colorado is tops in the nation when it comes to proper weight.
