Edward “Buddy” Erickson, Jr. of Pigeon Falls, WI, died Thursday, January 5, 2012.

Edward “Bud” Erickson, Jr. of Madison and formerly of Pigeon Falls, WI, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison. 

Edward was born July 22, 1927 in Pigeon Falls to Edward and Jennie (Vosseteig) Erickson.  He graduated from Whitehall High School and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison.  He earned an advanced degree from Oklahoma A&M with a majors in Agronomy and Soils.  He worked for Libby McNeil in Kokoma, Indiana, for a number of years and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in New York for a number of Years.  Edward also served our country in the United States Army.

Edward is survived by three sisters:  Edna Cleveland, Margaret Ruesch and Arlene (Hugh “Pete”) Greathouse; nephews: David (Barbara) Greathouse, Jim (Alisa) Ruesch, Jack (Gloria) Ruesch; niece Heidi (Don) Schade; and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by sisters Sylvia and Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law: Robert Cleveland, Robert Johnson, and Warren Ruesch.

Blessed be our memory of Edward Erickson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Visitation will be held prior to the service with burial in the Pigeon Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Pigeon Falls, Wisconsin.

The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
