Monroe County releases names in accident that killed one and injured another

Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin is reporting the identity of the persons that were involved in the motor vehicle crash on Dove Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday that left one person dead and another seriously injured

The person that died from the crash is identified as Kyle Kiser, 24, of Waukesha.  The person that suffered serious injuries is identified as Nicholas Klomstad, 24, of San Antonio, Texas.

The crash is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff Department, Monroe County Medical Examiners Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Monroe County Sheriff Peter Quirin reports a fatal motor vehicle crash. On November 2, 2013 at 2:30 a.m. Monroe County Deputy Ryan Williams was on routine patrol on Dove Avenue in the town of Byron when he located a one vehicle roll over crash.  He located one subject who was lying next to the vehicle. There was another subject still trapped inside the vehicle. Tomah Area Ambulance, Oakdale La Grange Fire Department was paged out.  Tomah Area Ambulance transported the injured party to Tomah Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.  Med-Link Helicopter responded and landed at the scene to assist with the trapped occupant.  Once the occupant was extricated from the vehicle the occupant was pronounced deceased.

Investigation revealed that the 2006 BMW was traveling east on Dove Ave. when it drove off the south side of the road.  It traveled app. 500 feet before it vaulted over a creek.  The BMW struck the bank on the other side which caused the vehicle to roll over several times ejecting one occupant and partially ejecting the other occupant.  The BMW ended up on its roof.   The names of the parties involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Monroe County Sheriff Department was assisted at the scene by the Oakdale First Responders, Oakdale / La Grange Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.   The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff Department Monroe County Medical Examiners Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
