The Crawford County Sheriff’s reports that on Oct. 27 at approximately 5:30am, a deputy who was finishing a previous call, observed a two door white sedan drive through the village of Seneca at an approximate speed of 60 to 75 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.
The deputy caught up to the vehicle County Hwy E and began to pursue the vehicle west toward State Hwy 35. The vehicle failed to yield for the officer’s emergency lights and siren and a pursuit ensued. The deputy pursued the vehicle into the village of Lynxville and proceeded south onto State Hwy 35 and then onto County Hwy F. The deputy reported the vehicle operated on the opposite side of the roadway on several occasions. The suspects’ vehicle began to smoke and died on County Hwy F near Morning Glory Lane.
The suspect had to be removed from the vehicle and was arrested. The suspect was identified as Jerad J. Tracy, 32, of Holmen. Tracy was charged with operating while under the influence of an intoxicant , knowingly fleeing an officer, operating after revocation, unreasonable and imprudent speed, non-registration of vehicle, failure to stop at stop sign, unsafe lane deviation and operate left of center.
