Two accidents over the weekend in Crawford County

On January 6th, 2012 at 6:43 the Crawford County Sheriffs Dept. received a call of a one vehicle accident on Hwy 171, 1/2 mile east of Old Gays Road.

David Schwenn age 25, of Bristol, Wi. was driving his 2000 Honda Accord east bound on hwy 171 when he failed to negotiate a corner, and struck the guard rail.

Mr Schwenn, and his passenger Brianne Ziemba age 24, also of Bristol, were wearing their seatbelts, and were not injured in the accident. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene. The impact broke 6 guardrail posts, and damaged approx. 40 feet of rail.

Speed was a factor in the accident. The Sheriffs Dept. was assisted at the scene by Crawford county Highway dept. and Digger Dons Towing

The accident remains under investigation.
On Sunday 1-8-12 at 8:30 am the CRSO received a report of an accident that took place in the night. A vehicle had been east bound, struck a tree and left the scene.

It was later established that at 3:10 am a 2001 Chrysler owned and operated by David Hollon age 22 of Wauzeka had been east bound on Vineyard Rd. and struck a tree.

The vehicle had severe damage.

Hollon was charged with Failure to Report an Accident.
