Former Milwaukee Braves great Andy Pafko passed away Tuesday at the age of 92.

Pafko played for the Chicago Cubs in the 1945 World Series and later played with the Braves during their glory days.  Pafko also played left field for the 1951 Brooklyn Dodgers and was in the outfield at the Polo Grounds as Bobby Thompson hit the “shot heard ’round the world” to give the New York Giants the National League Championship.

Pafko spent 17-years in the majors, hitting .285 with 213 home runs and 976 rbi’s.  He played in four World Series for three different teams.

After retiring, Pafko managed in the minor leagues for a few years.
