Crawford County Sheriff’s report, juveniles apprehended in theft and Seneca car crash

On September 23, at 11:23 pm the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of two thefts that occurred in Nathan Plaza, in the township of Bridgeport. Law enforcement arrived in Nathan Plaza and stopped one juvenile suspect, while the other two were last seen on foot traveling north into Prairie du Chien. Within a short amount of time the other two juveniles were also caught. One of the juveniles had a stolen iPod in his possession when he was caught. All three juveniles were transported back to Wyalusing Academy.

In a joint effort the Crawford County Sheriffs Department and Prairie du Chien Police Department were able to apprehend the three juveniles and return the iPod to its owner. 

One of the juveniles received a citation cited for Theft.


On September 22, 2013 at 5:32am the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a one vehicle crash on County Road E, a half of a mile east of Mischel Road, in the Township of Seneca.

Jason J. Kearns, 18, of Seneca was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when his vehicle left the roadway, striking two traffic signs before going over the embankment, striking six steel fence posts. The Kearns vehicle travelled several yards along the base of the steep embankment then went back onto County Road E and continued travelling west bound to his residence. Kearn’s vehicle sustained moderate damage as a result of the crash.
