WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) – Waterloo police say a brief argument led
to the shooting death of a teenager in a neighborhood.

Seventeen-year-old Martavious Taveros Johnson, of Waterloo, died
at a hospital after he was shot Thursday night.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier  says police say Johnson was walking with friends to an acquaintance’s house around 8 p.m. when someone approached them. Police say words were exchanged, and the suspect pulled a gun and fired.

Johnson’s friends drove him to a hospital, where he died a short
time later.

An autopsy is pending. No arrests have been reported.
