MADISON, Wis. (AP) – The Wisconsin Democratic Party says it will
not be releasing any more updates on how many signatures have been
collected to recall Gov. Scott Walker from office until the
petitions are submitted Jan. 17.
The last update on signatures was Dec. 15 when organizers said
they had 507,000 signatures for the Walker recall and hoped to get
720,000. They need 540,208 to force an election most likely in the
spring or summer.
Organizers have not said how many signatures have been collected
for the recall of Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.
The party said Wednesday that it has set a deadline of Tuesday
for circulators to return petitions by mail and Jan. 13 in person.
The deadline to turn them into the Government Accountability Board
is Jan. 17.
