SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING September 16, 2013

 

9/9 Michael Anderson, La Farge, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of US Highway 82 and US Highway 56, Town of Viroqua, when his vehicle was sideswiped by a vehicle driven by John Madsen, Hillsboro. No injuries were reported.

 

9/11 Collin Garvalia, Town of Genoa, reported that sometime between Monday at 8:00 PM and Tuesday at 5:00 PM, someone stole his Gruetts cattle trailer with wooden sides from his property.

 

9/12 A Pierce Hill Road resident, Town of Viroqua, reported he purchased a guitar on Ebay and has now been contacted by Winchester Kentucky police reporting it was stolen merchandise.

 

9/13 Kylie Bluske, Chaseburg, was southbound on Dodson Hollow Road, Town of Coon, when she met a vehicle she felt was on her side of the road. She swerved, and then lost control before going over an embankment and overturning. She had no apparent injuries.

 

9/13 Angela Scoville, DeSoto, was northbound on Hornby Road, Town of Franklin, when she struck a dog that ran out of the ditch. Scoville reported no injuries.

 

9/14 Tyler Jarrett, La Crosse, was traveling westbound on Dodson Hollow Road, Town of Coon, when he attempted to negotiate a curve and failed to keep his vehicle under control. He crossed traffic and traveled down an embankment where the vehicle came to rest on the driver side. He was wearing his seatbelt and suffered only minor injuries.

 

9/14 Brandon Arenz, Coon Valley, was backing from a driveway to the roadway on Willow Road, Town of Hillsboro, when he struck a metal rod fastened to a cement structure.

 

9/15 A vehicle owned by Robin Clark, Viroqua, was legally parked on South Commercial Street, Village of Viola, when it was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling south. The Clark vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The other vehicle left the scene and was not located.

 

9/15 Emily Lagerman, DeSoto, was traveling on Mundsack Road, Town of Genoa, when her vehicle hydroplaned and she lost control. Her vehicle crossed traffic coming to rest down an embankment. Lagerman reported no injuries.

 

9/16 3 reportable car/deer crashes this week:

Vickie Davis, Stoddard, on South Main Street, Village of Chaseburg;

Marianne Fieber, Viroqua, on State Highway 82, Town of Sterling;

Carrin Russell, La Farge, on Cook Hill Road, Town of Viroqua.
