Record night for Vernon County Fair Meat Animal Sale

The annual meat animal sale was held a the Vernon County Fair on Saturday night and there was a lot of bidding on a  lot of animals.  Alex Bolstad sold his Grand Champion hog for $4 a pound to Village Market and Dawson Swenson sold his barrow for $3.60 a pound to Organic Prairie. There were a total of 67 hogs sold.


The Grand Champion Wether went to Josh Rebhahnand was sold for 4.20 a pound to Koon Kreek Feeds. Vanessa Lohr sold her sheep to Cashton Veterinary for $3.70 a pound. A total of 19 wethers were sold.


The grand Champion Steer was shown by Claire Hawthorne and sold for $3.00 a pound to Sleepy Holllow Ford. The Reserve Champion Steer was shown by Max Dach and purchased by Westby Locker and Meats for $22.50 a pound. The Reserve Dairy Steer Champion was shown by Becca Seelow and sold for $2.50 a pound to Organic Valley.

A total of 28 beef were sold.
