Sheriff John Spears reports the following ongoing activities fir the year and narrative excerpts form the week ending Mon Sept. 9, 2009.

9/3 Locks were cut on three storage units on County Road HH, Town of Hillsboro. Several thousand dollars worth of tools and tool boxes were stolen from the three units.

9/3 A leaf blower, air compressor, battery charger and other items were stolen from a farm on Mills Road, Town of Jefferson.

9/4 A boat winch, boat rollers and a skill saw were stolen from property on N Asbury Road, Town of Viroqua. 

9/5 David Miller, La Farge, lost control of his vehicle on a curve of Whitetail Lane, Town of Webster. He went off road and overturned, but reported no injuries.

 9/7 An alert citizen viewed two men remove a “No Parking” sign in the Village of DeSoto, Vernon County, Wisconsin. The citizen obtained a vehicle description and license plate number. An officer located the vehicle and recovered the sign.

9/9 3 reportable car/deer crashes this week:

Carrin Russell, La Farge, on State Highway 56, Town of Viroqua;

James Nelson, Fennimore, on US Highway 14, Town of Franklin;

Lisa Fieck, Viroqua, on County Road Y, Town of Viroqua.
