The chairwoman of the public authority managing Vikings stadium construction says preliminary results of a financial review shows the team has the financial capability to cover its share.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority met in private Wednesday to discuss an ongoing due diligence review of team finances. It was prompted by a recent New Jersey court ruling against team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, which found they defrauded a partner in an unrelated development deal.

Authority chairwoman Michele Kelm-Helgen says the review by a private attorney is likely to wrap up next week. But she says financial and legal documents so far indicate the Vikings shouldn’t have any trouble covering their $477 million share of the $975 million stadium.

Stadium planners are hoping for a groundbreaking in early November.
