One injured in Monroe County crash

Monroe County Sheriff Peter Quirin reports a two vehicle crash which resulted in one person being injured. The crash took place on August 31st at the intersection of Hwy 21 and Cty Hwy ET in the Town of Lagrange at 5:44pm. A pick-up truck driven by Jason S. Hunt age 38 of Tomah, Wisconsin was west bound on Hwy 21 when he went make a left turn onto Cty Hwy ET. As Hunt turned a Motorcycle driven by Robert G. Cooper age 56 of rural Sparta who was also west bound tried to pass the Hunt vehicle, and the two collided. Cooper and his cycle went off the roadway into the south ditch. Cooper who had non- life threatening injuries was transported by Tomah Ambulance service to Tomah Memorial Hospital. Cooper was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

Assisting at the scene was the Monroe County 911 Center, Oakdale First Responders, Oakdale Fire Department, Tomah Area Ambulance service, Tomah Area Rescue service and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

 The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
