SHERIFF JOHN SPEARS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ONGOING ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR AND NARRATIVE EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK ENDING August 26, 2013 8/19 A hit and run accident occurred on State Highway 131, Town of Whitestown. It appears that a blue Chevy pickup truck drove straight into the guardrail at a sharp right hand turn at the intersection of New Heisel Road and State Highway 131. The truck will have considerable front end damage. 8/20 David Thomas, Norwalk was southbound on State Highway 131, Village of Ontario, when Tammy Whiskin, Ontario, who had been stopped at the intersection of Main Street and STH 131, pulled out and struck the Thomas vehicle. Neither party reported injuries. 8/23 The Strawberry Lane sign at the intersection with School Road, Town of Kickapoo, was stolen in the night. 8/23 Sometime in the last week a garage in Village of Genoa was burglarized. Multiple construction tools were stolen. 8/24 A burglary occurred last night at a residence in Town of Harmony. $200 cash and a vacuum cleaner were among the items stolen. 8/25 David Morton, Illinois, was northbound on State Highway 131, Town of Stark, scoping out possible fishing opportunities. Holly Clark, Gays Mills attempted to pass him, just as Morton was turning into a private driveway to turn around.
