On Monday August 19th at 11:34 am the Grant County Sheriff’s Dept. was notified of a two vehicle accident that temporarily halted traffic.
A 2014 Ford Mustang convertible driven by Matthew Bruhn, 37 of Jefferson, was traveling north on US 151 just south of Platteville. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s office, witnesses said they saw the Mustang hit a John Deere 4440 tractor that was hauling a loaded manure spreader. According to reports, Bruhn had been texting and was on the phone when he hit the tractor.
The driver of the tractor, Matthew Milller from Platteville, according to reports was shook up, but refused medical treatment. Bruhn, who was wearing his seat belt, was treated for a broken finger at Southwest Hospital in Platteville.
Assisting at the scene were the Platteville fire dept. and EMS, Wisconsin DNR, University of Wisconsin Platteville Police, Precision Towing, and Guy’s Towing.
The accident remains under investigation.
