|Thomas Berger, 74, of La Crosse died Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Thomas P. Berger, age 74 of La Crosse, died early Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1937 to Oscar and Hulda (Barstad) Berger. Tommy served in the U.S. Navy and was united in marriage to Diane Kay Sorenson on October 8,1960. He worked many years delivering Grain Belt Beer and was proud of his 33 years at Kwik Trip. Tommy was a charter member of the North La Crosse Lions Club and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, La Crosse.
He is survived by four children: Kimberly (Douglas) Sloan of La Crosse, Kurtis (Cathleen) Berger of La Crosse, Kari (Mitch) Halbakken of Minnesota City, and Kris (Jennifer) Berger of La Crosse; four grandchildren: Jacki (Joe) Hickey, Matt (Amy) Sloan, Ryan Berger and Philip Berger; three great-grandchildren: Jacob and Jessalyn Hickey and one due in April; one sister, Barbara K. Gronemus of Westby; two sisters-in-law: Ardyce Berger and Lois Schye; one brother-in-law, James (Pat) Sorenson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Kay Berger on Nov. 12, 1993; one sister, Cecelia Burdella Gokey; and two brothers: Orbin H. Berger and Richard L. Berger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill Street in La Crosse. The Rev. Stephan Sandness will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the French Island Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
