On August 14, 2013 at 2:56 AM the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of County Hwy E and State Hwy 179 in the township of Eastman.

A 2001 Dodge Dakota owned and operated by Rory M. Erickson, 31, of Madison  was east bound on County Road E.  Erickson failed to stop at the Stop sign at the intersection of County Road E and State Hwy 179 and went over the embankment and rolled his vehicle, which came to rest on the drivers side.

During the investigation of the traffic crash a strong odor of intoxicants was noticed coming from Erickson.  Erickson was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence Second Offense and transported to the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital for a blood draw.

The Erickson vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by Bob’s Towing of Prairie du Chien.

Erickson was also cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate that crash.
