Motorcycle crash in Monroe County injures two

Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin reports a one-vehicle crash that resulted in the injuries to two parties.

On August 10, 2013 at 8:30 PM the Monroe County 911 Communication Center received a call of a motorcycle versus deer crash located on STH 16 and Hawk Rd. in the town of Adrian. A 2005 Kawasaki Motorcycle driven by Phillip Hartman age 47 of Tomah was eastbound on STH 16 when he struck a deer. He lost control and went off the north side of STH 16 when he tipped the motorcycle over ejecting himself and his passenger. Mr. Hartman and his passenger Tamara Hartman age 43 also of Tomah received non-life threatening injures. Both parties were not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. They were transported by Sparta Area Ambulance Service to Tomah Memorial Hospital.

The Monroe County Sheriff Department was assisted at the scene by the Sparta Area Ambulance Service and the Monroe County 911 Communication Center.
