GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – Green Bay police say a nine-month investigation into a street gang has led to the arrests of nine people.
Police said Tuesday the recent arrests have broken up a gang called the Bay City Latin Kings. They say a 26-year-old Green Bay man who was arrested last week is the suspected gang leader.
A court commissioner found probable cause that the man and two others committed various drug crimes. They haven’t been formally charged.
Police say investigators confiscated narcotics including methamphetamines, oxycodone and marijuana. They say the alleged leader drove to southeastern Wisconsin to buy drugs and stolen guns for distribution.
Green Bay Police Capt. Todd Thomas says the gang holds weekly meetings and is very structured.
Police say more arrests are expected.
