Motorcyclist injured in Monroe County crash

Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin reports a two-vehicle crash that resulted in the injuries to one party.

On Monday, at approximately 2:30 pm the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash on State Hwy 16 and Cty Hwy A.

A vehicle driven by Lisa Frazier, 51, of Tomah was stopped at the stop sign on Cty Hwy A and State Hwy 16. A semi was traveling east on State Hwy 16 approaching the intersection of Cty Hwy A. As the semi passed  a motorcycle driven by JimmyLee Jerzyk, 27, of Tomah was traveling behind the semi. When the semi passed Frazier pulled out to turn left onto State Hwy 16 and did not see the motorcycle that was behind the semi. The Frazier vehicle collided with the motorcycle.

Jerzyk was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported by Sparta Area Ambulance Service to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Sparta Area Fire Department, Sparta Area Ambulance Service, and the Monroe County 911 Communication Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
