According to Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick at around 7:40 am on Tuesday, July 30, a logging truck driven by Shawn Mohn, 49 of Muscoda, rolled onto its side after striking two large rocks. The truck, a 1994 Peterbilt logging truck, was being driven by Mohn in the Clayton township, northeast of Gays Mills when the truck went into the right ditch and hit two large rocks causing the truck to roll onto the drivers side. McCullick said Mohn lept out of the truck prior to the crash, and in doing so he sustained a head injury.
Mohn was transported to LaCrosse Lutheran Health System and treated for a skull fracture and broken ribs, while the truck sustained heavy damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
