3 injured in two vehicle crash in Monroe County

Monroe County Sheriff Peter Quirin reports a two vehicle crash that resulted in injuries to three parties.  The crash occurred at about 5:49 PM on July 31, 2014 on ST HWY 173 approximately 200 yds. south of Crescent Rd. in the town Scott.

A vehicle driven by Sarah Owen, 27, of Warrens was attempting to turn left into a driveway. Another vehicle driven by Rita Turzinski, 55, of Wisconsin Rapids was traveling south on St. Hwy. 173. Owen did not see the Turzinski vehicle and turned into the path of it. Owen was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital by Tomah Area Ambulance Service with non-life threatening injuries. Two passengers in the Owen vehicle were also injured in the crash and was also transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Tomah Area Ambulance Service. They are identified as Leland Owen age 7 of Warrens and Tristin Gilbertson age 8 of Warrens.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Department at the scene were the Town of Lincoln Fire Department, Warrens First Responders, Tomah Rescue Technicians, Tomah Area Ambulance Service and the Monroe County 911 Communications Center

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
