community of La Farge Wednesday in more ways then one way. It was a perfect summer day and Vernon Memorial Hospital held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new clinic that will serve that community for years to come. It is a facility that has been in the planning for some time and the speakers at the event said it was one that has had a lot of input from lots of people.
Dan Nelson, Assistant Administrator of Clinic Operations, talked about the planning stages of the new La Farge clinic.
“When the whole department, the whole staff, was involved with the project we knew early on this was going to be an amazing facility, yet appropriate for this community.”
Dr JamesDeLine, a doctor with the La Farge Clinic talks about the look and feel of the new clinic.
“I hope that our patients get the sense of modern medical care, provided in a homey, small-town atmosphere by people who are well-acquainted with them.”
Kyle Bakkum, Chief Executive Officer, talks about the importance of having a clinic in La Farge for years to come.
“For folks in this community to come and see their provider right in town and not have to travel 20 or 30 miles to see their provider, it’s really important.”
The new approximately 12,000 square-foot facility is expected to be completed in 2015. It will include a new retail pharmacy, medical clinic, emergency triage area, two birthing suites and a private area for patient billing and accounts.
