2 motorcyclists from Iowa injured in chain reaction crash

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says two motorcyclists from Iowa were injured when they rear ended a van and then each other last Friday. According to the Crawford County dispatch center they were notified of a motorcycle vs. van crash on State Hwy 27, north of Cipra Lane, in Prairie du Chien township on Friday, July 4, at 3:48 pm.

Michael Lehner, 56, of Burnsville, MN was driving south on State Hwy 27 when he slowed down for a vehicle parked along the road. Richard Lacey, 67, of Guttenberg,  IA was following driving a motorcycle, he rear ended the Lehner van. Nancy Lacey,  63,  also of Guttenberg Iowa was driving a motorcycle rear ended her husbands motorcycle.

Lehner and his six passengers escaped injury. Richard Lacey sustained a cut to the arm and bruises. His wife Nancy sustained a broken leg along with bruises. Both Lacey’s were taken to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

Assisting at the scene were the Bridgeport Fire Dept. and First Responders, the Prairie du Chien Police, Tri-State Ambulance and Bob’s Towing

The accident remains under investigation.
