The 85th Wisconsin State FFA Convention this week in Madison. State President Logan Wells says it all starts Monday with a Day of Service where members from across the state will spread out across Madison to work on several community service projects. Another group of members will pack meals for Outreach Inc. and Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeastern Wisconsin. The goal is to have 350 members pack a total of 40,000 meals by 8 pm Monday evening
There are a couple of new features this year including an agricultural art contest where members are invited to depict agriculture in either two-dimensional or three-dimensional projects. The art projects will be on display throughout the convention in the back of the main convention hall by the restored tractors.
Another new feature this year will be a discussion panel featuring representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and government talking about the opportunities in agriculture
The convention starts Monday evening and runs through Thursday morning at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
