Vernon County Crime Stoppers asking for help solving burglary

Vernon County Crime Stoppers, along with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, is asking for your help.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office says sometime on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, a house on Three Chimney Road west of US Highway 14 between Westby and Viroqua was burglarized. Stolen during the burglary included a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver handgun, a Ruger 10-22 handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A possible vehicle involved in the burglary is an older, red-colored Chevy or Ford truck. If a suspicious person or vehicle was seen in the area, Vernon County Crimestoppers is asking that it get reported.

Vernon County Crime Stoppers says it is their hope that details of this actual case from police records may cause someone to remember and report what they know about the person or persons involved. Tipsters may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.00 and will remain anonymous.
